Dani K.

hobby cook, traveler, family man

Hello everybody

I'm Dani.

For many years I have been traveling with my family to different places all over the world and let myself be inspired by the country and its people, but especially by the food, the spices and different tastes.

Due to the Corona pandemic we were forced to spend some time at home.

I have always cooked a lot and my children have taken the opportunity to have their favorite recipes cooked by me.That's how I got the idea to create a blog to collect the different recipes from me, my family and my travels.

Especially the recipes of my family are in danger of being forgotten, and for some of them it would be a real pity.

A few years ago my elder son was diagnosed with gluten intolerance (coeliac disease). He never had any real symptoms, it was a coincidence, but it was important to recognise this disease.

We immediately changed and adapted our cooking and our buying and eating habits, only to find that many gluten-free products, which are relatively easy to find, are not very tasty. Since we decided not to exclude our son from cooking or eating, we started to make sure that - with certain exceptions - we prepare our meals gluten-free. This includes spices, broths, sauces, and so on.

We have also noticed that - at least in Switzerland - there is only a limited selection of high-quality gluten-free products. So we set out on a search... and we found many products that are almost indistinguishable from gluten-containing products in terms of taste.
More on this later.

This blog is meant to be an inspiration for cooking, travelling and enjoying, not only for yourself, but also for family and friends. And if we help people with gluten intolerance to achieve more joie de vivre through enjoyment, then we have brought even more joy into the world.
